Please have this on hand. Puppies under 5 lbs are at highest risk for developing low blood sugar. In a pinch you could use corn syrup, or honey. Should you have even a concern for hypoglycemia give 3cc a little over ½tsp by mouth to your puppy immediately and call your vet. 

What is puppy hypoglycemia?
Hypoglycemia means low blood sugar. In young puppies, especially smaller breeds, it can come on quickly and become serious fast. Common signs include weakness, unusual sleepiness, shakiness or tremors, lack of coordination, disorientation, collapse, and sometimes seizures. If symptoms are moderate to severe, prompt veterinary care is important.

This is great in case you have a climber. I would get at least the 30in tall size for minis-standards. 

Micros to toys could probably get away with the 24in tall size, but at least 30in for all is best. You could try the shorter height if you want to be able to reach in easily...

While I don't own this yet, it is at the top of my wishlist! I am loving that it has a bottom to keep floors and surfaces clean. The wheels make it super convenient to wheel into different rooms or areas so your pup can join you wherever you are easily. At only 23½ inches high, this would work best for micros to toys. Other sizes could use it as well, maybe just not as long. 

The umbilical cord method is our go-to for puppies in training. Feel free to ask. :-)

A must have for tear stains. The toys especially are prone to tear staining. I believe their little bodies just can't handle the TDS iron, magnesium etc in our tap and well water. I did my research and I am glad I did. Culligan's Zerowater pitchers have the only filters I could find that will remove the particles known to cause tear staining.

For families looking for ways to help minimize tear staining, I have been very impressed with the ZeroWater filter pitchers. They are the only pitcher filter I have personally found that targets minerals like iron and magnesium, which may play a role in staining for some dogs.

I'm super glad that I did my research as I nearly bought a simple more commonly known Brita pitcher. Here's the thing: It would not have worked. As their filters don't do the job needed.

I had been using Angel eyes wipes that didn't seem to make a difference.

Kiwi was scheduled for an appointment with a veterinary ophthalmologist...I can cancel that now. No more tearing, watery eyes. He looks like a new little man!
Our total dissolved solids is 221! A number that is common for our area. With the filter, that number is now zero. 

I use the smaller pitcher in the nursery and the large dispenser for the whole house.

Calming Pheromone Diffuser that we use in our nursery!

Adaptil Spray  is great for a spray in the crate, first car rides, or travel carrier. We use this for our airline flights and crate training. Also works great when sprayed onto the Snuggle Puppy. 

A little goes a long way. Spray and let dissipate for about 10 minutes as it has an alcohol based carrier. 

*I do not recommend the calming collars at a young age for safety reasons.

If your pup likes to play in the water and make a mess see flat sided pail options. Those can be carabiner clipped to the side of the crate and are what we use in the nursery. You can use one or two clips depending on the height you need for your pup.

I use these clips for so many things!

• Clip flat sided pail to side of puppy pen or crate, use one or two depending on the height needed. 
• Clips a leash to my pant loop for umbilical cord training
• Clip the leash to a knob or towel bar when pup is in training and I want the bathroom door open while getting ready. Or in the kitchen while doing dishes etc. 
• To clip the crate door to the side of the pen to keep it open during the day. Use another one in he body of the crate to clip it to the pen so it stays in place.
